ARROWSMITH ARCHERS
A division of PQFG.
The archery group dates back 35 years, and presently has about 50 shooters ranging in age from 4 years to Rip van Winkle. Archers shoot in two groups, Junior Olympian up to 21 and Adult Olympian where the objective is constant improvement up to an Olympic competitive level. Above, Debbie O'Brien takes a shot at a stuffed deer from a simulated tree stand at the recent 3D shoot at the indoor range.
- Safety is of prime importance, and all shoots are supervised by BCAA certified coaches.
- The range is always 18 metres. As an archer improves he or she moves to progressively smaller targets.
- Each archers results are recorded and submitted to a master log maintained by BCAA so archers can measure their skill against others provincially.
- All club meetings are held at the Pentecostal Hall in Nanoose Bay. See map on map page.
- Indoor shooting starts on September 15th 2008.
- The Junior Olympian archers meet on Mondays at 7.00pm.
- Adult shooting is on Thursdays at 7.00pm. Young archers may shoot on Thursdays with an adult who is actively shooting.

Two of our young archers show excellent form at the recent 3D shoot. This is an annual event, where discarded Christmas trees are gathered up and used to make an artificial forest. Lifelike styrofoam animals are placed among the trees, giving the archers a realistic hunting scenario. This event is becoming a highlight of our winter season. More than 60 shooters took part in this event this year.
Membership in Arrowsmith Archers costs $100.00 per year which includes membership in
